Avoid buyer’s remorse! Get exactly what you want and need for your kitchen. These useful tips for buying kitchen appliances will come very much in handy.
Major appliances aren’t something you buy everyday. They aren’t easy to carry around (unlike clothes and accessories), you can’t buy them “in every corner” (like food), and they certainly aren’t easy to return (in case something doesn’t fit or gets broken).
Buying kitchen appliances doesn’t have to be a terribly expensive idea, you just have to organize yourself beforehand; preparing a budget will definitely be of great help and we’ve jotted down a few tips, which may come handy!
Measure spaces, inside and out!
It’s important to consider the space (cavity) where you’ll be placing the fridge, washing machine, dryer, or microwave (or the appliance you want to buy), as well as the space in the prospect appliance. Measure out your kitchen, the doors (width, depth and height). Make sure the appliance you’re about to buy, has the capacity for your needs!
Control your impulses!
It looks pretty, but don’t buy it only because of how it looks! Control yourself. Instead of purchasing an appliance because of the color, shape or even size, make sure it is what you need. Take some time to really analyze what’s in front of you and determine whether or not, it will authentically fulfill your needs.
Learn from others
We all have that one person that always complains and recommends places and services, right? Learn from their mistakes and ask around! Something may seem absolutely stunning to the eye, and you hear great things about it, but check out the real user’s comments, listen to your pals about their previous experiences with certain brands or labels, and avoid making the same mistake they made!
Make sure the doors open the way you need them to!
Fridges open left or right, stoves and ovens can open downwards or sideways, and other funky designs on appliances may not open the way you need them to! Make sure they open the right way for you, or in case the don’t, ask the guy if you can change around the hinges.
Read the small print
Don’t’ buy anything without making sure you’ve understood everything about it! This means: maintenance and warranties, the specifications it requires to function adequately, from voltage, space needed, supplies, and more.
Consider refurbished appliances
Great money saver! Nothing more to say here: I’d seriously consider it.
Even though we’re in a world where not everything saves and not everything is green, there are still some little contributions you can make. You can buy energy-saving kitchen appliances, introduce a few practices to your home, and even get the kids involved. It’s a great way to give our planet a little breather!
